Tip--Use the Forums

Yeah, I know you've heard this before.

But guess what? Forums work. Before you get started, though, I'd like to give you a few tips:

• Do your research
• Do more reading than writing
• Never hype or pitch a product--use your signature line
• Be brief in your signature line

The number one thing to do first is research the forums. Find the most popular forums using the search engines. Read through forum posts to identify what people are having problems with and what their biggest questions are. That'll be your foundation for success on the forums.

Now, either create your own ebook or affiliate yourself with someone else's with a subject that fills forum-posters' needs. Sign up with the forums you've chosen and get friendly with the natives! Make a short un-hypey signature line with a link to your squeeze page or autoresponder.

Don't refer directly to your product unless asked a direct question about it. Doing so will immediately mark you as a spammer on the board and people will shun you faster than a turd in a pool. The more people see you as helpful, polite, friendly and patient, the more they'll trust you and view you as a real person.

Aim to join 5-10 forums and post on them regularly. That, and your tailor-made product, should ensure you some solid income in short order.
